Abstract

The Hari (peasant) movement has played a significant role in the history of Sindh. The farmers' struggle led to the peasants receiving their rightful share and the passing of the Sindh Tenancy Act. The Hari movement was not only a movement against the influential landowners of Sindh but also proved to be a movement of the common Hari. During this movement, not only men participated, but women also sacrificed their lives. This research examines the background of the Sindh Hari Committee, its formation, and the challenges faced during the struggle. The aim of this research is to analyse the political, social, economic, and cultural impacts of the Sindh Hari movement on Sindhi society. Both primary and secondary sources have been used in this research. For primary sources, detailed in-person interviews were conducted with individuals directly or indirectly associated with the Hari movement.
