Abstract

Religious schools, or Madrasas, play a significant role in Pakistan's educational landscape, primarily providing religious education to a large segment of the population. However, their contribution to social development has often been marred by challenges such as outdated curricula, limited financial resources, and political influences. This study aims to assess the role of Madrasas in Pakistan's social development, analyzing the obstacles they face and suggesting practical solutions for overcoming these challenges. It explores the need for curriculum reforms, government support, and the integration of modern educational methods to enhance their impact on society. By addressing these issues, the paper suggests that Madrasas can play a pivotal role in promoting social welfare, peace, and economic development in Pakistan.
