Selected Voices of Feminist Concept in Urdu Fiction

Abstract

The woman, a multifaceted personality, has been a subject of profound exploration throughout history. Acknowledged by the Almighty as an integral part of creation, she has demonstrated remarkable resilience and creativity across various domains of art and expression.   For centuries, women have fought for recognition as independent beings with their own unique thoughts, feelings, and aspirations. The feminist movement, a significant social and intellectual force, emerged to challenge the patriarchal norms that limited women's opportunities and defined their roles solely within the domestic sphere.   Writers, both from the East and the West, have boldly articulated the experiences and perspectives of women, giving voice to their struggles, triumphs, and aspirations. This movement aimed to identify and challenge the systemic inequalities that marginalized women and to ensure their rightful place in society.   This article will delve into the theoretical underpinnings of feminism in literature. By examining the key concepts and debates within feminist thought, it seeks to provide a framework for analyzing and interpreting literary works through a feminist lens. This analysis will help to understand how literature reflects, reinforces, or challenges societal norms and power structures related to gender.
