Social Issues and their Solutions: A Research Based Study in the context of Fehm ul Quran (Mian Muhammad Jamil)

Abstract

Allah Almighty sent His Prophets and Messengers to guide humans and then revealed His Praiseworthy Word through these Prophets. The Holy Quran is one of the greatest book that was revealed to the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). Translations, explanations and commentaries on the Holy Quran have been written in many regional languages. In our Indian subcontinent, many interpretations have been written in Urdu and Arabic languages. Fahm al-Quran is also the Urdu interpretation of the Quran, by Mian Muhammad Jamil Sahib. This commentary was written in a common-sense style, adopting an educational approach, fully connecting the basic themes of the Quran to common people. The Mufassir tried to describe the social issues and their solutions according to Quran and Sunnah.

In this article, we will analyze the social aspects of the topics covered in Fahm al-Quran and study to what extent the author of Fehm ul-Quran has addressed social issues in it. We will also examine which social problems have been described from which aspects, whether they have presented, any Quranic solutions for their work, and how can a individual succeed in their social challenges after reading this interpretations.
