This study examines the role of grammatical structures in constructing textual cohesion, highlighting their significance in ensuring unity, coherence, and continuity of meaning within a text. It explores how syntactic patterns such as sentence structure, word order, grammatical agreement, reference, substitution, ellipsis, and connective devices contribute to linking sentences and clauses into an integrated textual whole. The study emphasizes that grammatical cohesion is not merely a formal feature, but a functional mechanism that guides the reader’s understanding and interpretation of the text. By analyzing selected textual examples, the research demonstrates how effective use of grammatical structures enhances semantic clarity, reinforces logical relations, and strengthens overall textual coherence. The study concludes that grammatical structures play a central role in shaping textual cohesion and are essential to achieving communicative effectiveness in both written and spoken discourse.
